The tourism industry globally faced a strong setback due to the coronavirus pandemic, and even after almost two years, the future of tourism seems grimy. According to the UNCTAD report, the estimated loss in international tourism and its minor sectors may cross more than 4 trillion for 2020 and 2021. In such a chaotic situation, even Nepal's thriving tourism industry is facing challenges for sustenance.
Low fare for international tourists, despite all the hindrances, countries around the world are pushing hard to promote domestic tourism. During the low surge of the pandemic, many European nations like Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland are open for tourists. Similarly, Asian countries like India, Hong Kong, Japan, and Nepal are keen to reopen their borders.
Buddha Air, being one of the benchmarking airline companies of Nepal on its 24th anniversary came up with an idea to boost domestic tourism that would solely target international tourists and ease their budget fare. Although booking a flight for international tourists except Indian nationalities requires to be paid on a dollar fare which is quite pricey compared to the fare cost of Nepalese and even Indians.
Hence, to boost the tourism industry in Nepal and help run the economic wheel for everyone's sustenance. The new dollar fare will be effective from January 1st, 2022 and will be approximately 50% less compared to its previous charge. We expect it will be a big "YES" for all the international tourists and ease their entire budget while traveling in Nepal.
