Bikram Bade is one of the pioneers who reintroduced hot air ballooning in Nepal's tourism market. His company 'Balloon Nepal' arranges balloon flights in Pokhara’s sky. Tourists fly in balloons. Ballooning has become a unique feature of adventure tourism.

Born and raised in Nagdesh in Bhaktapur, Bade, 35, saw balloons flying near his home when he was in school. Sunrise Company used to fly balloons in Kathmandu from 1998 to 2003. After that, the company closed.

Balloon Nepal was established in 2016. It has been flying hot air balloons commercially since November 16, 2018. Bade collaborates with Deepak Kumar Shrestha and Sabin Maharjan as business partners in the company.

Balloon tourism is Bade's dream. When he went to Rajasthan in India, he saw hot-air balloons flying. He also experienced ballooning himself. He then immediately thought of a similar adventure business in Nepal.

He extensively researched hot-air ballooning and registered a company. After receiving flight permission from the government, he started flying around Dhampus near Pokhara. Later, he started flying commercially from the shores of Fewa Lake. Currently, he flies from Lauruk near Lakeside.

Nepalis are increasingly attracted to ballooning. According to Bikram Bade, president of Balloon Nepal, forty percent of the service users are Nepalis. Out of the remaining passengers, forty percent are from SAARC countries, and twenty percent are from other countries.

Bade's group is excited. They plan to buy two more balloons next year and increase the number to five. This showcases the development of the private sector based on its own strengths.
