25th Anniversary: Honoring the Honorable Personnels

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Buddha Air, we hosted an anniversary celebration in Everest Hotel honoring top-level personnel of different industries and enterprises for their love and support during the establishment and the initial phase. Similary, we also honored 49 of our employees who joined Buddha Air since its establishment. All of the 49 employees were presented with a token of love and shawl by the Managing Director himself thanking them for their love, loyalty, and support all these years.

Man Bahadur Shrestha

Before Buddha Air came into operation back in 1997 Mr. Man Bahadur Shrestha was appointed as a CFO for making the financial management and for his contribution we are very grateful. His vision and plan helped us to grow during our initial days in the aviation industry of Nepal. On this auspicious day of Buddha Air’s 25th anniversary, we recall all your contribution and would like to thank and honor you with certificate of appreciation from Buddha Air.

Sansar Bhakta Shrestha

During our initial days, former Chief Administrator Officer Mr. Sansar Bhakta Shrestha’s support and care towards Buddha Air has of great value. We were youths then and our dream to fly in the aviation sky was fulfilled with his help and financial support to which we would like to thank him with a citation certificate on this special occasion.

Sulav Panta

Nepal Merchant Bank was the first bank to provide an initial loan and that we believe was the first seed of the Buddha Air establishment. The former CEO of Nepal Merchant Bank Ltd. Mr. Sulav Pant’s support and suggestion were priceless therefore we would like to thank him with a certificate of appreciation on our 25th anniversary. 

Rubi Joshi 

Just like a little take-off is a must for an aircraft to fly thousands of miles similarly for any business initial take-off becomes necessary. Miss Rubi Joshi the former Managing Director of Nepal Bank of Ceylon helped established Buddha Air to make a safe takeoff showing confidence in us. On this auspicious event, we would like to thank her with a certificate of appreciation.

Ashok SJB Rana 

On our course to touch the sky we planned to extend our fleet and CEO Mr. Ashok SJB Rana from Himalayan Bank Limited wholeheartedly supported our mission else Buddha Air might not be able to continue towards its 25th anniversary on this day. We truly appreciate Mr. Rana’s love and support towards us and would like to reverence him with Buddha Air’s citation certificate on our 25th anniversary.  

Mohan Bahadur Thapa 

Just like pilots are concerned about their passengers as passengers are concerned about their destination similarly an airline company is concerned with providing fast yet safe service which is only possible if the technical sides of an aircraft are robust and ready to serve. Late Mr. Mohan Bahadur Thapa always stood his ground to provide the best technical support to our team since the beginning. Remembering your hard work and effort for Buddha Air we would like to thank and honor you with a certificate of appreciation from Buddha Air.

Khem Lal Bhushal 

An aircraft that flies thousands of miles are made up of a variety of different materials and composites that needs to be well maintained to keep up the overall condition of the aircraft. Mr. Khem Lal Bhushal’s hard work and dedication to the company and his ideas for the store inventory system that we still use is the great example of his dedication to his work. On this auspicious occasion of the 25th anniversary of Buddha Air, we would like to thank you and present you with the certificate of appreciation.

Pradip Karki  

In the aviation industry safety and trust plays a major role in thriving the business, especially after 25 long successful years. Mr. Pradip Karki who is also the former Nepal Airlines Cooperation’s Marketing Manager whose contribution to assure the Nepalese mass of domestic airlines and its safety since the beginning of Buddha Air is highly noble. Hence, we would like to thank and honor him with a citation certificate from Buddha Air.

Ram Khrishna Nirala

During the initial phase of Buddha Air, we needed lawyers to provide us with lawful insights and other formalities like the company letter of administration, and code of conduct including other formalities to help establish the company. Moreover, all his contribution during this phase of the company was with zero charges which means a lot to us. Hence, on this 25th anniversary, we would like to thank Mr. Ram Krishna Niraula and honor his service with a certificate of appreciation.

Lalit K.C

The trust and confidence in any airline cannot be judged only by the graph and number of flyers but rather by how frequently a passenger prefers to fly with that airline's answers well. In the 25 years course of Buddha Air, we have met thousands of such passengers who have immense trust and love for us. Mr. Lalit K.C is one such flyer who has flown with us more than 2465 times and we have a deep respect for him and his trust for Buddha Air. Mr. Lalit K.C joined our Royal Club on 2003 January 15 and has a history of flying 6 times in a single day. We would like to thank and honor him with a certificate of appreciation from Buddha Air.

Raytheon Aircraft Credit Company

Raytheon Aircraft Credit Corporation recognized us as a credible airline company from the very beginning. Without their support, we wouldn’t be where we stand today. You incorporated their system of financing 90 percent of the amount, with a requirement of only 10 percent of cash payment from us to buy four Beech 1900D aircraft from Raytheon Aircraft Company.
With a great deal of trust, you made it possible for us to bring in our first 2 aircraft worth 9 million dollars. On the occasion of celebrating our 25th anniversary, we want to wholeheartedly felicitate you with this certificate of appreciation. 

Pratt & Whitney Company, Canada

Pratt & Whitney Company has been holding a special place in our hearts throughout these 25 years. You are not only repairing, and maintaining our engines but also supporting and advising on the technical and financial aspects of engine management. We extend great appreciation and acknowledgment to our dear friends Mr. Sugrim Misir and Mr. Vellu Venu, and other personnel for their constant support, advice, and guidance at Pratt & Whitney Company. On the occasion of celebrating our 25th anniversary, we want to wholeheartedly felicitate you with this certificate of appreciation. 

ATR Company

Our knots have been tied with the ATR Company ever since 2008 when we brought in our first ATR 42-320s aircraft. At a time, we were only a small airline company but you recognized us, put your faith in us, and helped us grow. We now operate 14 ATR aircraft and will go on adding as per market demand, thanks to you. We are immensely grateful to have been connected with you, and your contribution to where we stand today is invaluable. We extend great appreciation and acknowledgment to our dear friend Mr. Jean-Luc Establie who introduced ATR aircraft to us.On the occasion of celebrating our 25th anniversary, we want to wholeheartedly felicitate you with this certificate of appreciation.

Birendra Bahadur Basnet 

Today Buddha Air is Nepal’s number 1 airline and also the trusted one and to make this possible there are thousands of hands who have worked hard all day and night to make this possible. However, we should also realize and admire the person behind these faithful staff who brilliantly managed to untie all of them and motivate them to strive for the best. Buddha Air’s Managing Director Mr. Birendra Bahadur Basnet since the company’s establishment to this very day of silver jubilee has always motivated everyone with his ideas, vision, and action that led the company to grow its fleet from a single aircraft to 16 aircraft eventually making every single individual travel domestically without any hassle. On this auspicious day, we are proud to felicitate Mr. Birendra Bahadur Basnet with this certificate of appreciation.

Surendra Bahadur Basnet 

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, our Chairman Mr. Surendra Bahadur Basnet’s role and contribution own a very special place. In the early days when infrastructures were not developed and well managed in Nepal, it was his vision and determination that helped thousands of Nepalese living in remote places of Nepal and people living under the economic poverty line to access air transport which is still considered a luxury in the context of Nepal and enjoy the short yet safe mode of transport to different parts of Nepal. It was his courage, bold decisions, and visions that made it possible for Buddha Air to operate as the number 1 airline in Nepal while at the same time creating employment opportunities.
