Rajbiraj Airport, located at Bisangapur Municipality of Saptari District, is one of the oldest aviation airfields in Nepal. It was founded in 1959 to enhance the connectivity between the southern part of Nepal with Kathmandu. 

The airport highlights a single asphalt runway that measures about 1,500 meters in length enabling it to handle small to medium-sized aircraft.

Rajbiraj airport is 5.6 km away from Rajbiraj city. It is Nepal's first systematically designed city where different religious people reside. Rajbiraj is one of the touristic destinations enriching itself with holiday destinations like Chinnamasta temple, Kankalini Temple, Koshi Tappu, Baraha Chhettra and Gaighat. Alongside, it is also rich in food, culture, flora, and fauna attracting a lot of tourists.
